On the original page, this is where the story truly began to exposit all over your face, but doing away with Elly’s narration made it more difficult to get inside her head. I’m glad I took the narration out, but doing so created a host of narrative issues that I didn’t expect and didn’t compensate for. I should say now, before we get any deeper, that I don’t think revising the script was a mistake, and I genuinely love Val’s take on the chapter, but working on the redux I learned a valuable lesson that you’ve probably heard but didn’t take to heart: never go back. Always move forward.

Also, side note, Solomon’s costume was originally supposed to hint at his faith, but that aspect of his character was never developed. Since I don’t have any plans to approach the character from that angle, it’s been removed entirely from the redux.
